It's just a few bytes, but in large setup with many servos, you should check if this causes problems The speed parameter doesn't relate to any real time measure. But this is very easy, you just have to replace WProgram. On start servos rotates to degree Ask Question. Shouldn't it be just added to the servo lib? So I tried to find different ways of sweeping servos without using the delay function. I think having such a function in the servo library would be a good idea if the library doesn't suffer from it. varspeedservo.h

This time I wanted to move or sweep a servo between 2 positions.

I found this library on the Arduino forum. BTW, I posted an example sketch using this library here: Thanks for your help! Active 1 year, 11 months ago.

It avrspeedservo.h be by setting an initial position before varspeefservo.h a pin to the servo, you may prevent any unexpected movement. I thought about this, but in the end I didn't find any useful measure for the speed, as the actual movement speed of the servo is unknown.

Seems this issue comes only when I'm using Varspeedservo. Every case gets a certain amount of time, this time is calculated by using the millis function.

It's just a number and you can set some speeds but others not. Msquare on Aug 04, Everything that works with Servo works with VarSpeedServo too.

Testing it now and it works fine! I would like it improve this, but then I'd need more bits for the ticks parameter. Imported it from there as well Using Arduino btw, on Windows 7 computer.

Some time ago I wrote a sketch to control a servo with a potentiometer without using the delay function, you can find it here.

This sketch uses a for loop to sweep the servo. You could program that with a switch case. Most of the additional RAM needed in VarSpeedServo is for the target position, but this is not needed if the sweep is between the min and max positions set in the attach method because only the speed and current direction need to be stored and these can be held in a single byte if the max speed is limited to I am interested to know if adding variable speed sweep would be good enough for most applications?

You will need to open up the VarSpeedServo library source code and read through it to understand how the library actually works with your sketch.

Library example: VarSpeedServo : SweepTwoServos

It should not show such behavior. If some specific speeds are necessary, the model I used might not offer enough granularity. This sketch looks a lot like the sweep example that comes with the Arduino IDE.
